Leadership Qualities / Create Ideal Culture / Team Building
My favorite leadership story in the Bible is about David's Mighty Army. The bible says 400 men in debt, distress and discontented came to David as their leader. He takes this ragtag group and does great exploits with them. This one verse is a taste of the result. "Abishai raised his spear against three hundred men, whom he killed, and so he became as famous. Benaiah was a valiant fighter who performed great exploits. He struck down two of Moab’s best men. He also went down into a pit on a snowy day and killed a lion. And he struck down a huge Egyptian. Although the Egyptian had a spear in his hand, Benaiah went against him with a club. He snatched the spear from the Egyptian’s hand and killed him with his own spear." (1 Chronicles 11: 20-23)
“Everything rises or falls on leadership” – John Maxwell
There is a fascinating discussion going on in our country about leadership. The phrase “leadership vacuum” has stirred much debate. Maxwell's assessment on leadership is proven by history in every capacity. The aspect of Leadership Coaching does not see the leader as an empty glass that we might fill with information, knowledge and ideas. A powerful Coach views a leader rather as an acorn, an entity that has all the potential within to successfully grow into a beautiful oak tree, as long as the right conditions are provided for that growth. The leader is then in position to create an ideal culture and build a team that loves and supports one another and the vision.
